The classic 1980s comedy series Police Academy is set to return to the big screen.

New Line cinema is apparently revisiting the franchise with original producer Paul Maslansky returning, The Hollywood Reporter said.

The original Police Academy film starred Steve Guttenberg. It was released in 1984 and spawned six more movies and a spin-off TV show grossing $240m (£158m) worldwide.

Reports suggest that this new Police Academy movie is going to star a totally new cast with great comedians.
